"Hmm," Mamoru said. "If you'll excuse me - " He put a hand on Nagi's chest and squeezed. "Yes, so I see." He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Perhaps Masafumi's experiments have contaminated our water supply. It would explain a lot of what's happened."
Nagi nodded. It sounded reasonable. Now his cousin would tell him what they'd do about this.
"Let's go out for dinner," Mamoru said. "Wear something . . . nice." His hand lingered on Nagi's shoulder a moment too long.
Nagi nodded, anxious. Stay on his good side, he thought.
