Next week's philosophy colloquium is on a very interesting topic (failures of the usual textbook account of assessing argument strength). The problem is that it's during a class period for a pretty challenging mathematics class. I'm not sure that I can realistically manage to skip the class (if only because it gives me just over an hour twice a week to pore over the textbook), but the professor presenting the colloquium is from another university... I hate to admit it, but I haven't been as excited about a philosophy talk in a while.
Hm. Perhaps I shall ask my prof if I can just get the topics he's planning to cover, and study outside of class.
(This might just be the geekiest dilemma I've ever posted on the internet.)
