Oh my god, I can't believe I made it. I have been stressing and obsessing about this movie since NOVEMBER. When they were filming it. And frankly? Today I'm a little sad. It works kinda like Christmas. There is all this build up and anticipation, and then Christmas comes, and its over. Just like that. And the anticipation is gone. And that was 70% of the fun.
BUT. This will be my first midnight showing EVER. Call it geeky. But that's ok. I'm allowed at least one geeky thing in my life (no comments from the peanut gallery).
I'm so stoked to see it, and to see it with people who fully understand. I will say this though: If I have to deal with mass quantities of "SQUEEE" while watching the movie I may have to hit someone. I am excited too, but seriously? Let's watch. Soak. Take it all in. How many fandoms get a second ending? A do-over. Not many. Enjoy it!
And because Rie did it, I'm fillin' out the meme.
1. What one thing do you most love about The X-Files?
I'm stealing Rie's answer. All the friends I made as a result. I have yet to find such a large quantity of friends that are all so different and yet so alike through any other fandom that I have made through X-Files (that was a really poor sentence. Sorry Mama Grammar. I'll try better next time). Its sad that we're all so spread out and don't see each other more often. But I don't know what I'd do without them. I also love that we're traveling through other fandoms (sort of) together.
2. What are your two favorite seasons?
Five and six. Ok, and seven.
3. What are your three favorite lines?
"Well, it seems to me that the best relationships - the ones that last - are frequently the ones that are rooted in friendship. You know, one day you look at the person and you see something more than you did the night before. Like a switch has been flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend is... suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with. " - Scully, Rain King
Mulder: Scully! I knew you'd come. They told me you were dead.
Scully: And you believed them? Traitor.
Mulder: What?
Scully: Deserter. Coward.
Mulder: Scully, don't... I'm dying.
Scully: You're not supposed to die, Mulder - not here.
Mulder: What do you mean?
Scully: Not in a comfortable bed with the devil outside.
Mulder: No, you don't understand. He's taking care of me.
Scully: No, Mulder, he's lulled you to sleep. He's made you trade your true mission for creature comforts.
Mulder: There was no mission. There were no aliens.
Scully: No aliens. Have you looked outside, Mulder?
Mulder: I can't. I'm... too tired.
Scully: No, Mulder, you must get up. You must get up and fight... especially you. This isn't your place. Get up, Mulder. Get up and fight the fight.
- The Sixth Extinction II: Amor Fati
Mulder: Your full name is Dana Katherine Scully. Your badge number is... Hell! I don't know your badge number. Your mother's name is Margaret. Your brother's name is Bill Jr. He's in the Navy and he hates me. Lately, for lunch, you've been having this six-ounce cup of yogurt, plain yogurt, into which you stir bee pollen because you're on a bee pollen kick even though I tell you you're a scientist and you should know better.
Scully: Look... Any of that information could have been gathered by anyone.
MULDER: Even that yogurt thing? That is so you. That is so Scully. Well, it's good to know you haven't changed. That's somewhat comforting.
