I don't know if I told most people, but I still haven't taken my computer in for service. Why? Because they don't backup your data in store anymore. I had to find someone outside to do it. But the "outside" wanted to charge me $80-120 per hour to back it up. So I went to the Apple store yesterday, paid $20 for a firewire cable, and drove down to Long Beach, where the very gracious
acornx allowed me to back everything up on her external hard drive. So its safe. Its all there. Thank god. Today I will go back to the Apple store to turn my computer in to send to Depot. And in 7-10 business days I will have it back. The downside to this is that classes start on Monday. I will be spending some extra time here at work to use my computer here.
Also, in case anyone didn't know, its been raining here. A lot. And I have no umbrella. I haven't been able to get clothes dry for the last week. Like last night driving home from Long Beach, there were whole sections where it was raining so hard I couldn't see through my windshield. Or where there was so much water on the road I couldn't see the lane dividers. I got home to find out there were tornado warnings for LA County. I'm sorry. What? Tornados? Not even a watch. A warning. I saw lightening. Fred and Shirley Phelps are protesting Heath Ledger's furneral. The world is ending. I'm convinced.

That's What She Said: 5 Quotes That Still Resonate
1. "I feel like I've lost sight of myself, Mulder. It's hard to see, let alone find, in the darkness of covert locations. I mean, I wish I could say that we were going in circles, but we're not. We're going in an endless line, two steps forward and three steps back. While my own life is standing still. "
(Scully, X-Files)
2. "But I don't understand. I don't understand how this all happens. How we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she's- There's just a body, and I don't understand why she just can't get back in it and not be dead anymore. It's stupid. It's mortal and stupid. And-and Xander's crying and not talking, and-and I was having fruit punch, and I thought, well, Joyce will never have any more fruit punch ever, and she'll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why." (Anya, Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
3. "We take what we can get, champ, and we do our best with it." (Cordelia, Angel)
4. "I'm not scared. I'm not scared. I'm not scared. Please, Wesley. Why can't I stay?" (Fred, Angel)
5. "Hey, Luke, it's me. I know I'm not supposed to be calling, but I am not doing really great right now, and - I was just wondering, if, do you remember in The Way we Were, how Katie and Hubbell broke up because his friends were joking and laughing, and the president had just died, and she yelled at them and he was mad and he was going out to Hollywood, and, I mean, which she hated, and he broke up with her and she was really upset. And she called him and asked him if he would come over and sit with her because he was her best friend and she needed her best friend, and he did. And they talked all night, and they went out to Hollywood, which was a disaster, but it was good at first. With the boat, and uh, putting the books away. I've seen this movie a lot, so if you don't remember the putting the books away scene, don't feel stupid or anything. I was just sitting here thinking about it, because I, um, I'm in my house, and I was just, uh. Could - please come over. I - please. Rea...Oh, my God." (Lorelai, Gilmore Girls)
6. (Just for fun): "A few weeks ago you told me that Lane had a crush on me. Well, I have a crush on her, too. Now, I know you have very strict rules about dating and boys, but I just want you to know that I'm a good person. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I've never gotten a ticket, I'm healthy, I take care of myself, I floss. I never watch more than 30 minutes of television a night partly because I think it's a waste of time and partly because there's nothing on. I respect my parents, I do well in school, I never play video games in case they do someday prove that playing them can turn you into a serial killer. I don't drink coffee. I hate soda because the carbonation freaks me out. I'm happy to give up meat if you feel strongly about it. I don't mind wearing a tie. I enjoy playing those hymns on my guitar, and I really, really want to take your daughter to the prom." (Dave, Gilmore Girls)
