Title: Graduation
Rating: G
Word Count: 305
Notes:
trivialaffair wanted prompts/drabbles so I did one and it's not half bad.  I want to write something around "graduation" so I might pick this up down the road.  I know the sweet taste of that success only too well. :D

Sho stood in front of the mirror in his dress slacks and white button-down, collar flipped up and a pink striped tie hanging around his neck waiting to be knotted - his mother's favourite. He stared at his reflection, at his tired eyes and slightly pale skin. It hadn't been easy; there was more than one occasion when he just wanted to stop.

It had kept him up at nights, thinking about what he would be willing to give up just to have some rest, at the peak of his workload. And as filial as he was, it would have had to be school. But the inevitable disappointment and rejection in his father's eyes kept him going.

Only three more months...

The others told him if he needed to take a break, it was fine. School was more important, they would wait. But Sho wasn't so sure. As exhausting as his schedule with Arashi was, and would become, he never felt happier running on empty with the four of them. School had never once given him that kind of high.

He pushed himself to and past his limits and now he was standing in front of his mirror, hours from walking across that stage with no thoughts other than, I fucking deserve this.

He turned at the soft knock on his door, "It's open." Four faces he knew as well -- better than -- his own appeared in the doorway with a chorus of "Congratulations!" They piled onto his bed and watched him get his suit jacket and new white gold watch, a gift from his father, chattering about the sweat and tears that it took to get to this point. Jun stood and reached for the tie around Sho's neck.

"The least they could have taught you is how to tie your own tie."
