My mom came for a belated Thanksgiving and brought her meat grinder. It is PERFECT for the first phase of grinding! 5 hours with a knife and/or grain mill turns into 10 minutes. Magnificent! Shelling is now my bottleneck (with drying and leaching being long but not labor intensive components).
Conveniently, since mom only uses it for Thanksgiving, it is effectively mine to use until next November!
So for Christmas I just need to get a grain mill... and maybe gift money for buying
seeds for my garden.
