Home for the holidays

Things in life have settled enough finally that I realized with some surprise this past week that I'm actually looking forward to the holidays rather than simply dreading the extra work required. As such I designated this weekend for holiday decorating.

I have not gotten out of my pajamas all day, but I did render 3 batches of lard to be used in future batches of soap. I set my new computer up with a comprehensive playlist of my Christmas music - I haven't repeated a track in over 6 hours so far. I've also had E bring in all the decorations so I could set up the main holiday transformation (everything but a tree). This means I've finally unpacked my advent wreath and lit the first candle. Tomorrow I'll actually be on schedule.

Tomorrow we will likely also update the house lights in a Christmas-obvious green and red pattern. We might take a field trip out to See's to fill one of my candy dishes with candy sticks. I stumbled across a change-of-address postcard from beekeeping friends who moved a few months ago, so I might sit and write an actual Christmas card to them. There will definitely be a batch of soap made.
