Oh, hi! This is the post I was planning, but I sort of got side-tracked by desserts. And kitchen goodies. And... OOH SHINY.
Anyway. Here in Minnesota, we do not actually live in igloos year-round. Spring is heeeeeere! So exciting! How can I tell?
Easter brunch
One family tradition of mine which my husband has embraced whole-heartedly is having special occasion brunches. Mother's Day. Easter. Sundays. And the menu is pretty much the same: eggs Benedict. Why mess with perfection? The spring asparagus is a nice touch (especially since Hubby doesn't actually like it, so I get his). We went to my grandma's place, but the china in the photo is ours! She gave it to us for a wedding gift, but we don't have the space for it. It lives in a cupboard she can't use anyway, so it stays at her house and we visit it often.
Garden!
When I sent the Hubby to the grocery store, he did buy groceries. And "Easter candy." By which he meant "potted plants." A friend and I are sharing some seeds that she is starting, so we have the planters for that, but nothing set up yet. We did buy some organic potting mix, though.
These bad boys are just waiting for some tomato plants. I may try to sprout a few myself, then buy one or two at the farmer's market once it opens again. We shall see.
My new Easter flowers included two pink gerber daisies....
... and a white mum (nice and hardy for these last cool nights, living in my new blue pot), and a starter basil plant. The rosemary has been alive since last spring!
