Stolen from
cinquefoil...
What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before? Would definitely be, "Got married" :)
Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? My
resolution was "to try my hardest to not turn into a 'Bridezilla' while planning our wedding." I like to think I did a really good job of that. In '08 I will go with the good old weight-management resolution. I don't want to lose any, just maintain it.
Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope
Did anyone close to you die? Nope
What countries did you visit? None, but the list of states I visited is far more interesting (see
previous post).
What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007? A million dollars would be good. I'm not too picky.
What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? September 23, for obvious reasons.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Gaining more responsibility at work.
What was your biggest failure? Saving money. I spent an obscene amount of money on the wedding. Hopefully this year it will be better.
Did you suffer illness or injury? Nope, thank goodness.
What was the best thing you bought? Anything associated with the wedding. In particular, our wedding bands and that awesome cake. :)
Where did most of your money go? Definitely the wedding (see above).
What did you get really, really, really excited about? The wedding (man, do I sound like a broken record or what?)
What song will always remind you of 2007? Our wedding song, of course, but also "Boston" by Augustana since I sung it at the top of my lungs while
driving down the PCH in California.
Compared to this time last year, are you: happier or sadder? I think about the same, if not happier. This time last year I was glowing from being newly engaged. Now I'm glowing from being newly married.
What do you wish you'd done more of? This'll sound totally overachiever-esque, but there were some things on my marketing plan at work that I didn't get the chance to do.
What do you wish you'd done less of? Sitting in front of the computer, Googling sites for the wedding. It had to be done, I guess, but it felt like it took forever.
Did you fall in love in 2007? Of course, I fall in love all the time!
How many one-night stands? Yeah, that would be zero.
What was your favorite TV program? I would say 24. My friend Cheryl and I are totally obsessed with it.
We watched it together every week, and even started getting together to watch the first season on DVD while it's been in between seasons. But it should be coming back on again soon... *squee*
Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? As I said last year, "hate" is a very strong word. However, I think the only person on earth that comes close is Mitt Romney for his creative redefinition of the word "saw."
What was the best book you read? Definitely
Suite Francaise. Go get your hands on a copy if you haven't read it. A book that was hidden for 60 years before it was published - the story behind the story is simply amazing.
What was your greatest musical discovery? I wouldn't say any of them were all that "great."
What did you want and get? A husband :)
What did you want and not get? That million dollars. I'm in the lottery pool at the office, though, so it is bound to happen someday. It's always big groups like that who win.
What was your favorite film of this year? Just like the music, none of them were all that thrilling. Certainly, not good enough for me to remember now. All I remember seeing is Transformers and that was a pretty sucky movie.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 27, and had a special cake baked for me at the D&D game. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Gee, I keep coming back to that million dollars... :) Seriously, my year was pretty darn satisfying.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007? Buy clothes that actually fit me (rather than be held up by a tight belt). Definitely becoming more preppy - more polo shirts, sweaters, etc.
What kept you sane? A lot of Guitar Hero!
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I always have been, and probably always will be, a big fan of George Clooney. Mmmmmm.
What political issue stirred you the most? The election and its general stupidity (see Romney rant above).
Who did you miss? My colleague Mike left the company late in the year. He was very much a mentor to me and I miss his guidance.
Who was the best new person you met? I had actually met them before, but got to know
midnightcoder's friends Schuyler and Katie much better this year. They are getting married next month, and I know we will spend the rest of our lives as couple-friends, the type who chat and drink coffees while the kids run around in the yard.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007? It's not so much a lesson as it is a blessing (received from
poxyd and
topaz3in6 in our wedding guest book/wish book): "May your house never be large enough to hold all of your friends."
Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: "All that I am, All that I ever was, Is here in your perfect eyes, They're all I can see" (Snow Patrol, "Chasing Cars")
