Presents under the "tree"

Ah, Christmastime. The time that you gather with your loved ones around the Christmas tree and exchange presents.

midnightcoder and I just did that. Except that we don't have what you would call, er, a traditional tree. We have this:

What happened is that we were in Arizona from the 13th to the 18th, so we didn't want to get a tree before then since no one would be around to water it. Afterwards, it was just so close to Christmas and we have NO ROOM anyway that we decided to just forget it. Sad but true. On Friday I went out shopping and saw a little tree-in-a-box kit complete with tree, lights, and ornaments, and that is what you see here. It's a real Norfolk Island Pine, only mini. (think Dr Evil) OK, so for now it's more like a potted plant than anything, but someday it might turn out to be a "real" tree.

Anyway, midnightcoder and I just had to put our presents under the tree. But in this case, we kind of took it literally:

Anyway, all is well with the world right now. We did an early present exchange - he opened up a box of chocolate-covered cherries from me (his favorite candy eeever), and I opened up "WarioWare Smooth Moves" for the Wii from him, which may not be the most even of trades, but we are still both very happy. Now he is playing Kirby on the Wii (SO DARN PINK AND ROUND AND CUTE AND FUN!!!) and I am writing this and finishing off the sweet white wine that I got from drakin769 at the wedding.

Merry Christmas to all!!
