When you first attended UMass, where did you live? 404 Cance, in the SOMTAP program.
Who was/were your roommate(s)? Devi S.
Sophomore Year: 215 Field (wellness floor), with Val in the fall and as a single in the spring
Junior Year: 215 Field with Jess
Senior Year: 724 Field with hazelyze
Do you still talk to them? Only to hazelyze really. I did get in touch with Jess a while back on Friendster though.
Ever get in trouble in the dorms? No, I am a goodie two shoes.
Something you remember when you lived in the dorms? Showering with flip-flops on, Bowl Day (and the wellness floor mock-tail table), going up 7 flights of stairs with Suzanne.
Your campus phone number or other number. I remember my number in 215 Field was 6-6420. I once got a voicemail from some stoned hippie dude saying: "Duuude... your number ends in 420. Heh heh. Bye."
First party attended? It was a little mini-party Christine threw on the night of the Emmy Awards. It was just Christine, her roommate (Andrea??), Suzanne, and I. We ordered out from Pinocchio's and watched the Emmys. This would have been maybe two weeks into freshman year.
First Bar you got wasted at? Come on, this is me we are talking about. Not only have I still not been to a bar, but I have never been wasted, and don't care to be, either.
Favorite Pizza Place in Amherst? Does DP Dough count? I only went to Antonio's once in my four years (yes, shocking, I know).
Favorite Diner? Went to the Sit Down Diner once before they mysteriously closed. (ditto Julie. I don't think there are any other diners around are there?)
What was your Favorite Floor you'd always be on? 2nd floor of Field, or on 3rd (??) floor of Dickinson with midnightcoder
Club, Athletics, Frat or Sororities, you joined? I was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the honors society for business. Otherwise... that's it.
Where did you buy your books? Mostly at the textbook annex, although I did buy a few online to save a little money. One book I actually already had at home, oddly enough (a book of fairy tales for my Myth, Folklore, and Children's Literature class)
Who made the best wings? Hangar I guess, I only had them once or twice. Wow am I a boring person.
Favorite Amherst bar? etoilepb and I had lunch at the Monkey Bar once...
Ever attend a UMass sporting event? I don't think I ever actually went to one, but I did walk past a couple of lacrosse matches, and I saw the hockey team practicing once. There were also a few times where a bike race was held right outside my window at 215 Field (they rode up and down the hill leading up to the parking lot).
Ever attend a concert or comedic performance? Plenty! I used to see Mission IMPROVable all the time, usually with midnightcoder and melancon. I also saw Elton John at the Mullins Center (AMAZING), and saw lots of random student performances (the bands I remember are Hurricane Dave and Fire Engine Red).
Did you move off campus, when and where? Nope. I figured at that point that I had the rest of my life to live on my own, but only those four years to have the whole on-campus experience.
Have you ever spent the night on campus not in a dorm hall? Yes, I once stayed in the campus hotel.
Where did you get coffee? All over the place: the DC, the munchie store in Franklin, the Bluewall, the People's Market, Sweets & More, even at Whitmore once or twice.
Ever go see a play or been in one? Was never in one myself, but did see a couple, yes.
Did you ever have a job at UMass? Worked at PCCO for 5 semesters.
What do you hate about UMass? The use of concrete as a legitimate architectural style. The PVTA. MassPIRG. No paper towels in the bathrooms.
What did you love most about it? The diversity. Taking so many truly interesting courses. The feeling of being both urban and rural at the same time. And above and beyond, my friends (awwww).
Ever leave UMass to go on a road trip, where? Went to visit my friend Cheryl at Colby-Sawyer, and scoobydee2379 at Penn State.
Where would you believe is the best location to live in UMass? Orchard Hill, of course! I lived there for 3 years... did not like Southwest.
Graduated or still attending? Graduated almost 4 years ago (OMG).
Will you go back? for what? Yes, probably just out of my own curiosity to see what's changed.
Finally, ever gotten arrested? No, but as cinquefoil said, she and etoilepb and I did get a little talking-to for grilling hot dogs outside... but that lasted all of two minutes until the officer told us we were not grilling the hot dogs correctly!
