Booooooooooo!!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

I'm actually kind of disappointed... I had been expecting at least a couple of little kids from my building to come knock on my door to trick-or-treat, but not one has. I even have candy for them (Nerds!!). Oh well. Good thing I like Nerds (of all kinds, heh).

That reminds me... My boss actually asked me to teach him how to be a nerd, because he has always been a jock. Haha...

In other news, I've been rockin' it as far as food goes lately. Yesterday I made an awesome chickpea salad that I know ladybugus would love - a can of chickpeas, about 1/4 cup scallions, then throw in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic pepper. I let it sit in the fridge overnight and then had some with lunch today - YUM. Then tonight, I made a stir-fry out of thin-sliced chicken, peppers & onions (frozen), "Japanese style" stir-fry noodles (from Trader Joe's, even), a dash of sesame seeds, and the topper: Good Seasons Asian Sesame and Ginger salad dressing. I'm telling you, it works.

The best part is that I got a deal on that dressing. It was on sale for like $2.49 (regular $2.99) and I had a buy one get one free coupon: so two bottles of this new salad dressing for two bucks and change. It was on sale and I had a coupon.... geez, do I sound like my mom or what?? :) I actually did very well for myself at the supermarket yesterday. Between coupons and the store's incentive programs, I got $80 worth of groceries for $55. And that includes some vitamins and medicine, and three packages of meat (the thin-sliced chicken, some breaded chicken nuggets, and a package of ground turkey). You can't beat that with a stick.

I have been quite enjoying VH1's "I Love the 80's 3D." It seems like every time I turn VH1 on they are playing one of the episodes. Let's see, if I turn the TV on now, is it on now? ... *checking* ... Nope, it's actually that really crappy looking "But Can They Sing?" which looks like a bad breed between "American Idol" and "Dancing with the Stars," heh. The commercials for that show are quite possibly the only thing VH1 is playing more often than the "80's" shows. Anyhoo, the "80's" shows are still quite enjoyable. If you think about it, "I Love the 70's" and "I Love the 90's" each only had one run, but the 80's is on its THIRD... so what is everyone's favorite decade, hmmmmm? ;)

In honor of the 80's I am listening to my 80's playlist. I am quite happy to announce that I am now listening to Starship. Ahhh, doesn't get much more 80's than that.
