My mom said the funniest thing to me after dinner: "Stacey, you can go dye now!" :)
I have a white "bohemian" style shirt that I am dyeing to a color that Rit calls "Wine." (And I do have to admit, the water with the dye in it does look an awful lot like a big puddle of Shiraz or something. ;) Anyway...) This shirt is really fun, but it's not very flattering as a white shirt. I'm hoping that changing the color will help. If not, oh well. It's a fun experiment, anyway. It looks like some of the edging and lace is made out of a different material than the rest of the shirt, because it's not taking in as much of the dye, making it lighter... but that actually makes it look really cool. It's been sitting there for almost an hour now. I'll probably leave it in a little longer before taking it out to rinse and air-dry.
I'm hoping to be able to wear this shirt on Thursday. In case I didn't tell you: Brian (
midnightcoder) and I are going to see Huey Lewis and the News at the Bank of America Pavilion (FKA Harborlights) on Thursday night. I'm leaving work at 3:00 that day so I can get home, change into my cool "bohemian" outfit (my brown peasant skirt and, hopefully, the dyed shirt) and go grab a bite to eat. Brian is dying (no pun intended!) to try that little Indian place in Malden that
ladybugus and I go to, where they have the all you can eat buffet for something like $6 a person... so we'll be going there on the way into the city.
And in other news... I've got a bit of a sore throat thing going on. Owie. :(
Still in love with the MP3 player, too. That thing is great in the car. And it holds something like a gajillion songs. I loaded 3 CD's onto it and it's maybe a third of the way through. Just wait until I get Lappie back and can load even more on there!
