Where to begin? ...At the beginning makes sense I guess...
Saturday evening I went to see Coldplay with
ladybugus and her friend we shall refer to as L-. As you may have already read on Beth's LJ, after being within the grounds of the Tweeter Center for a mere 15 minutes, L- won a contest that upgraded our seats from Section 13 to Section 1 Box Seats! We were instantly "VIP's" who could access special areas of the center that other people couldn't - namely a section called The Courtyard that had a full service restaurant (where we ate dinner while the opening act was on), a full service bar (as opposed to the rest of the place that just had bottles of beer and margaritas) and its own private restrooms (but the lines were really long there too... hmmm...). Also if we wanted to, we could have food and drink delivered to us in the box. Ahhh, that's the life, I'm telling you. The concert itself was amazing. Our new seats were back far enough so that we were right about at the same level as the stage, so the view was awesome (except for that person in front of us who just wouldn't sit down - I hate when that happens). Coldplay was at its best on Saturday night, concentrating mainly on the songs from their new album (X&Y) but also playing crowd-pleasing hits from the first two albums like "Yellow" and "The Scientist". And yes, if you read
that article from the Globe, Chris Martin did indeed run around the perimeter of the arena like a maniac. :)
Here is a picture of Coldplay I took with my camera phone. It's not very good.
On Sunday I finally took Lappie back to CompUSA. What I did differently this time is that instead of going to the service desk, I went straight to customer service first. The person there immediately got the manager for me, who made sure the people in service knew I had talked to him. He explained that because the computer is less than a year old it is still under the manufacturer's warranty, which is why they have to keep sending it back to HP; apparantly the coverage I bought doesn't even kick in until later this month when I hit the 1-year mark. And if it has the same problem again a third time, it will be declared a lemon and will be replaced. I must say that the manager was most helpful in clearing things up (that and it helped to have
midnightcoder with me to keep me sane). So the computer's back at HP, but hopefully it will be fixed for good this time. Don't worry
davitant, I take that back about how much HP's suck... and besides, you have a Compaq and even if it's basically the same computer, it doesn't have the bad HP vibes :)
And in other news, my tomato plants are florishing at a rate I can hardly believe. Just this weekend, Brian and Mom helped me stake the tomato plants so they would grow upright (they were starting to droop). Shortly after, the biggest Heinz tomato (the one that had sprouted first) started turning orange, until today when it was bright red. I picked my first tomato today!!! Well that is about all for now... which is good because my hands are starting to hurt from all this typing... owie!
