D&D Geekiness
I had so much fun at the D&D game last night. drakin769 did an awesome job DM'ing because (a) he knew exactly what we all wanted out of the game, and (b) he had his own plans for what he thought we should do, and rewarded us accordingly (yay XP!!).
I am happy because I got tons of combat in before I had to leave. Stephanie and I were guarding a door trying to keep tons of soldiers out. Hmmm, let's see, two pissed off chickie fighters, each with big shiny axes... do you really think everyone is just going to walk on by? I don't think so!! Oh and did I mention my character is a dwarf with 7 levels of Fighter and 2 levels of Dwarven Defender (a prestige class) - which means I had 130 hit points and and AC of 29 at level 9 - AND, both Steph and I have Great Cleave? Yeah, NOBODY is getting past two chicks with axes and Great Cleave!! Add the fact that polgara_3000 was literally throwing people out the door over our heads (did I mention that Steph was a halfling?) and you have lots of somewhat-organized chaos!
Oh yeah, and Dennis and I made our characters have a sparring match... I did lose, but it was really close... when he hit me for my last 2 hit points, he only had 9 left. And he had the ability to disarm me (which he did); if it weren't for that I'm sure the scales would have tipped my way. Ah well, I'm still proud that my little dwarf held her own against Master Fury the monk. :)
