Wow! Your SAHMs must LOVE MDO!!!! I have the day off for Veteran's Day, and it is the first time I have been able to send Jacob to school and not have to go to work! It is amazing. I have baked a cake, cleaned all the toilets, sinks, and my shower, done a load of laundry, started the dishwasher, and am posting on LJ and it is only 10:30! And I plan to mop the floors and maybe even take a nap. I can't imagine what I would do if I had this time every week. I could get my hair cut! I could go shopping. I could keep the house in order. I feel like a super mom today! (Even though I did forget that today was picture day at school...oops!)
Things are going well with me. John is super busy at work because their recoding all their accounts and they are down a staff member because she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy (the surgery went well, but I am sure she would appreciate all your prayers). So his long nights and working from home, means I am extra busy too. But it is nothing I can't handle. :)
Jacob is growing like a weed as little boys are prone to do. He has started to become more and more verbal. He is picking up lots of new words, and REALLY starting to get good at mimicking sounds. AND, he has finally stated saying "Daddy". He says it very much like da-DEE. It is so cute. John is over the moon about it. Any time he says it John says "That's me!". It really makes me smile.
Jacob has moved on to the love of diecast cars. We got out the ones that John kept from his childhood and he has one (or four) in his hands 90% of the time. Megan, they don't make the car garage you guys have anymore, and the stores online that still have them are charging $100 for them!!! The new version isn't nearly as cool, so I am not sure what we are going to get him. We might look for a used one on ebay...but I would hate for that to be his Christmas. We will have to see. If anyone has a good toddler car play ramp thingy, please share.
Well, I should probably get back to work. If anyone in the Central Arkansas (or beyond) area would like to hang out sometime over the holidays, please let me know. My door is always open, and I am up for outings too!
