Politi-think: There's gay marriage in California!
NOT civil union, NOT domestic partnership, but full-on marriage with all the same rights & priveleges applied to heterosexual marriage. This comes just hours ago, when the California State Supreme Court voted 4-3 to grant gay couples the right to marry. They declared existing marriage laws, defining marriage as only one between one man & one woman, unconstitutional. CA would be the second state in the union to have full-on gay marriage. Massachusetts was first.
I think this is great news. The idea that couples who happen to be gay should be denied rights that hetero couples get is ridiculous & outdated. How exciting to watch our nation at this stage of its growth process.
