Reviews are for Readers

You know, I don’t even really want to discuss any of the stuff that came up last week anymore. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of having my motives questioned, sick of being told I’m lying about them, sick of being told I’m a petty vindictive bitch, sick of being called a hypocrite, sick of being told I equate bad reviews with mean and thus obviously can’ ( Read more... )

Well, I'm sorry on your behalf - people only want free speech when it suite them, it seems. Nobody should have to put up with such abuse from perfect strangers. Shameful of them.

I hope things quiet down for your, but I also want to say that I know a lot of authors need to be careful of what they say, and how they sound ( a shame sometimes). There are a few author/bloggers that I totally enjoy reading because of their blunt and straight forward talk, saying things that a lot of us are thinking...you're one of them...and Jennifer Armintrout is another that I enjoy reading. I don't always agree 100 % with everything everyone says, but that's the joy of life - all the differing opinions..but we should all be civil about them. There's only one author that really gets to me with her soapboxing, but I won't mention any names. It's her right to say her thoughts.

And I enjoy characters like Chess, because there are so many people that are like her, or have been through addictions/dependicies like hers. And it's fun to read about her barely controlled life. I really enjoy the way you're writing her and am so glad it's there for me to read and relate to. Everh one has their issues, different levels of them and at differing times in their lives, so it's wonderful to read about a character who is not the perfect sin-free person who never makes mistakes.

I would encourage you to remain true to your opinions and write the way you feel, be yourself. But as far as the blog is concerned you're the only one ultimately with the right to decided what you want to put out there, and what you're willing to put up with as far as the crazed responses go. Just know that there are many of us who appreciate you the way you are - we appreciate your willingness to state what you feel and it does take a certain amount of bravery to put it out there.

Carry on....or not - just remember we appreciate and love you the way you are.
