A blast from the past.

I don’t know why I haven’t been here in days?? I just got back from the neighbors' pool party, it was fun. Talia had some of her friends over there (erin, talia, christina, holly), and it reminded me of my friends when we were their age (12 and 6th grade-ish). They are little back stabbers and talk about the other one when she isn’t around. They listen to the hip-hop and pop, music that I listened to once. We humped things at parties, talked about boys, who would lose their virginity first (isn't it ironic?), and girls that we considered hoes. We all have grown up, and away from elementary school. However, out roots are still there and it was in those halls that we made some of the best friends that we will ever have.

We didn’t realize how easy we had elementary school, at least I didn’t. Don’t get me wrong I have loved junior high and high school is cool too, but nothing beats recess and the playground. There it was our own world with our own rules. What I love about the playground is that everything that we did while there was done generations before us and will be continued in generations to come. Red Rover, tag, girls chase boys and boys chase girls. I can’t tell you how many guys I hit or kicked and hurt on that playground. Those were the days.

Now we are about to be juniors in high school. Some of us are still friends, and others we only have memories of. I am turning 17 in September and can’t believe it. The time has flown by, before we know it we will have graduated from Connellsville. We have grown and experienced things that we could have only dreamed of then. I think that no matter how old we get or how much we change we will always have part of that person with us. You have to take each day and live it to its fullest. A piece of advice from Coppula is that Time is our most valuable resource and once it is gone you can never get it back. Don’t waste this time that we have. -Lacey
