Last week was a great week, despite my lack of sleep. I really don't care, because it was worth it!
On wednesday, I went with Jeremy, Madi, and Rodney to go wait in line to see Conan O'Brien in San Francisco. We left at 7 in the morning and got in line at 8:30. With no actual guarantee of getting tickets to the show, we waited until 4...and just barely got in, but we got in. I was so excited and running on pure adrenaline since 4 that morning. Everyone kept saying I was going to hurt myself, but I was so happy, I didn't care. Just to be there and feel the excitement from everyone else was great. The seven and a half hours that passed by went by quick. I had my ups and downs, and I stood up in line for just about 7 hours, but nothing can describe the feeling I had when I finally got into that theater. Running up the stairs of the Orpheum theater was such a rush. Reaching the top, I wanted so badly to just go, but I decided to wait for my friends so that I could sit with them. But as soon as they caught up with me, I was off, on my way in the theater.Entering that room absolutely took my breath away and I was still in a rush of emotion so indescribable that only the excitement adrenaline in my veins could keep up with it. Seeing the set and hearing Max Weinberg and the Max Weinberg 7 playing was amazing. I took a seat and sat forward in my chair just about the whole time.
The whole atmosphere of the place was breathtaking and I went crazy along with them. I definitely think that San Francisco and the Bay Area showed their love for Conan. He sure looked like he had fun and enjoyed his stay. And there were many funny moments. Just thinking about it makes me wanna jump up and click my heels...in a totally non-geeky fangirl way,of course.lol=)
The next night, I went to the midnight showing of Spider-Man 3. I liked it, and if you know me, I know what you're thinking; I like all movies. I liked it, but I do think that the first two movies were better. I liked the movie itself, but it just had soo much to it and to the story, that it was not as well done as its predecessors. The transitions weren't as smooth, there was too many characters to set up and in the end the new characters didn't really shine anyway. There were some tearkerker moments and some moments where the midnight crowd yelled out calling Mary Jane a slut.
It kind of reminded me of X-Men 3(which I also liked, and have no problem with) in that it had unexpected deaths in it. Now, I don't read the comics; Superman, Spider-man, or X-Men, I'm just a big fan of the movies, so when someone complains about it not true to the comics, I can still see where they are coming from. They have expectations based on the comics, and it's ruined by what the filmmakers made of it.
Anyways, I loved Bruce Campbell's cameo, and the cheesiest-of-the-cheese scenes with Tobey Mcguire. May I say again that I liked it, or, now that I think of it, maybe I like what it wanted to be...whatever, it was fun.
And now that I gots photoshop...I have no life. Wallpapers and messing around with pics of Illya, Lex, Dr. Who, Nick/Greg, and House(and sg-A) is my life now. That's more fun than studying for finals anyways.lol=)
