The dean took Angie, my mom, and I to the Cardinals game last night. Now, with the dean I was expecting good tickets, but I wasn't expecting third row right next to the visiting dugout. But, that's what I got.
The best part of the night, better than -
being at the new stadium,
looking into the Reds' dugout,
watching a Reds player hand a ball to the 3-year-old(ish) with a prosthetic leg sitting in front of us,
overpriced Ben & Jerry's ice-cream,
three Cards homeruns,
my mom telling me to flash Ken Griffey Jr.,
seeing dirt fly when the ball bounced in the infield,
seeing the home plate ump get pegged in the face mask with a 95 mph pitch,
watching every foul ball intently to make sure I didn't get pegged in the head,
the kid next to us sleeping,
the dean making fun of stupid drivers,
watching the dean's GPS,
Isringhausen blowing the game in the 9th inning -
was watching my mom have an awesome night, sitting three rows away from her favorite team ever, giddy as a middle schooler, and being in heaven.
Awesome night.
