my ah-ha moments
I realised after years of making fun of people that watched Fraiser, that I quite enjoy the comedy. In fact, I have spent the past week watching early morning syndicated episodes on channel 4.

I worked at the Leeds Taste Festival which was temporary and well-paid.... plus we got free food, not as much as we would have liked but enough samples to hold us over. The down sides included the fact that we had to wear pink shirts and matching hats, not being able to drink AT ALL despite the dozens of tents to wine taste from AND we couldn't eat while working (only on our breaks, so picture wandering around with FOOD EVERYWHERE and not being able to grab a nibble off of a plate of snacks. Plus, the first day I was placed right next to a BBQ and had a guy with a mic talking to the crowd about how it was the best bbq'd chicken ever with tasty maranade and melted brie. If working there wasn't a lesson in self-control, what is?)
