words now, pictures later

I have attempted to update for ages now but I either become distracted or lazy.

But, in hopes that updating my LJ will spur me into work-mode (not sure how) I will write about many exciting and recent happenings.

I've had many wonderful guests visiting Leeds including John, Laura, Gina and Jeff.  They have all come within weeks of each other and so it has been exciting, busy, and exhausting. I was able to see Bath (though it was kind of dark and we missed the Jane Austen museum) and Wales which was fun. Laura and I reunited in London to eat a surprising good curry in Brick Lane (and I usually don't care for Indian food).

We also wandered around the Tate Modern and had a delicious meal at Wagamamas which has sentimental value as that was the last place that we ate at with Nicole in London. Jeff overlapped with Laura's visit and it was good for them to meet. Laura has been doing TFA and Jeff will do it next year. My friends will all be famous (doing amazing things). This world cannot contain us.

It was also soo soo good to catch up with Gina. I worry about her constantly and she has been doing so well at Davis. I miss her but it was good spoon, eat, play, take naps and reconfirm our commitments to arrange marriage between our offspring.

In other news I have been planning my trip back to America with Harry and his Dad. We are going to drive along the Oregon coast and spend some quality time with my family. I can't wait to go home for a little while. In the mean time, I will be in London and Paris next week with Jenna and Ktea. How exciting! We are also going to see Jonah. I swear, its by coincidence that he is playing the same night that we will be there. !!!!

oooh and speaking of music, tomorrow is the Frank Turner which I am soooo excited about. Please, if you haven't listened to him before. DO IT.

The anniversary of my grandpa's passing has come and gone. I can't believe its been a year.
I wish I was there with my family.
Its tough because he passed on my dad's birthday. They all went to the grave to place flowers and visit.  Its hard to celebrate the day. I called my dad to say happy birthday and I sounded really cheery for him. But, I was crying when we hung up. I miss my grandpa so much. He'd be so happy to hear from me. And, I would want to hear more about his stories.
He had so many.

Harry is going to come with me on my grandpa's birthday in June to plant a tree. I thought about doing that on the anniversary of his death as a gesture of remembrance. But, I think that his birthday is a better day to celebrate and to remember.

Probably due to a combination of stress and fatigue (possibly hormonal changes as well) I have been really irritable lately. I think I need more rest and to be a bit more productive on the school front. Oh and I might try and go running in the mornings. And by running, I mean jogging at a leisurely pace for no more than 30 minutes. Still, we all know that exercise gives you endorphins and endorphins make you happy.
