Who would have thought! An UPDATE! *does air guitar*

Alrite, I know that being dependant on my updates hasnt yielded any worth lately... sorry I just got lazy with the concept, and then felt like I was so far behind, that updating would be a novel at task. The friends reading this although, are the friends that I am in touch with frequently, so dont feel that you have missed anything crucial.

I took the Praxis I test in June, and I am proud to say that I passed all three parts on the first attempt. I didnt feel that the test was as difficult or ominous as friends have made it out to be, but I also have friends that took the same test session that I did, and failed certain parts of it. Several people I know have had to retake it 3 or 4 times to pass all three parts. I'm just too cool for schizool.

I taught Bible School at my church in June also (the week after I took the Praxis). It was a lot of fun, and I was able to learn the names of the children, and some of the parents that attend St. Andrew's with me. I thought this was a good experience, since I am the soon-to-be sister-in-law of the pastor and his wife (Tyler's sister). I was in charge of the games for all the age groups, which kept me in the sun, kept me busy, and having lots of fun. The last day of bible school we did water balloon games, so its safe to say that I went to Catherine's house to make flowers with wet, curly hair.

I went to Catherine's house the Friday after bible school because I helped her to make all of the flower arrangements for her wedding which was the Saturday after (June 26). It was a super busy afternoon of boutenierre(sp?), corsage, and bouquet making with her and her day-away sister-in-law. After that we rushed off to the rehearsal, and then the dinner at the Golden Bull in Gaithersburg (yummy). I had a reading in the wedding which didnt go as well as I had hoped....

Okay, the day of the wedding... shower, dry my hair, get dressed, do make-up, Tyler comes over, gets dressed... off to the church we go with my mom and Miss Ida. Catherine walks down the aisle, and I start bawling. Normal reaction, almost expected from a close girlfriend. Problem= I have to do my reading in about 2 minutes. I walk to the front of the church, get the first line out, and break out in tears again. So there I am, my monologue in hand CRYING. Uggh, as I looked out over the church, I had everyone else in tears, and was given hugs and compliments the rest of the evening about how people had compassion for me, and that I did an emotonally wonderful job.

OH, BTW... I quit my job on June 3rd. I got hired at the new Hour Eyes in Frederick the beginning of July. I took a month to relax, and make sure that I didnt want to go back to Greenridge, because they were begging for my return. I am proud to say that they have found no one at work to replace me, and since three people have quit, and three others are looking for employment elsewhere. Maybe my director will finally see that she cant treat people like that.

I went for my interview at Hour Eyes a month after I quit Greenridge. It went great, and the manager (Dale) sent me for a drug test the next day, and hired me when he got the results back. Its a wonderful job with great coworkers, and I am glad to offer my services to you as an optician if you ever need them.

I went to Pawleys Island with Tyler on July 23, and met 30+ members from his moms side of the family. All very sweet. I learned how to surf, catch crabs, and lots of other things, TONS OF FUN.

Came home from Pawleys on Saturday July 30, left the morning of Sunday, July 31 to go to Myrtle Beach with my mom for 12 days. Lots of time laying at the pool, looking for sharks teeth, and shopping. OMG! I went to Alligator Adventure! It was so much fun. I had my mom take me because they had a new River Otter exhibit (my favorite animal). We werent expecting it to be a whole lot, just a tourist trap of sorts, but it was awesome gnarly with some tubular qualities. They have over 700 alligators on the premises, albino alligators, and lots of breeds of crocidiles. We saw an alligator feeding, and a reptile show. The river otters were totally cute (an AWWWW factor of 10/10), and they have two black bears there also. This place also had tortises who offered an education lesson that wasnt even included in the admission cost.... yeah, two tortises were totally getting it on. It was funny as anything to see, but the best part was that they were doing it when my mom and I got there, and still getting it on when we left. I guess everything about a tortise is slow ;)

Since Ive gotten back from vacation, its been pretty tame. Just taking some time to relax before I head back to school. Work has been a lot of fun, and Ive made great sales. I love that I get commission:).

What else did I forget that Ive done this summer....
-Hershey Park, PA with Tyler
-Dave Matthews Band concert with Tyler, Dan, Julie, and church people
-Alec told me that he is having a coming home party when he gets back from Iraq next month
Tyler and I had our engagement photos taken for the newspaper, and for the family
-saw some great movies (and chick flicks with my girls:)

Alrite everybody, Im off to get naked and bubbly before I go to work!
