a much needed update <3
Hello Everyone! So it's been forever since ive really updated
this thing. It's been a pretty hectic crazy past several months
and ive just had soo much going on.
I just got back from being out of town for two whole weeks and it feels so good to be home! I went to a Design Camp and NC State the first week and then headed off to Emerald Isle for the last week. Design camp was a whole lot more fun than i thought it would be. I met some really awesome people and learned a lot about design and what it takes to go to design school. It gave me a really good perspective of the different types of design and i got a better idea of what i want to pursue through college and life. So mom picked me and holly up from that on Friday and we headed straight to the beach. sooo relaxing and nice. Just what I needed. feels good to be back in Davie county though!
So back around April or May life in my family decided to take a huge change. My parents decided to get a divorce, my dad took a job in Houston, TX and mom decided that it would be best to sell the house and find something smaller for just me and her. By the first week of June, the divorce went through, dad moved to Texas and Mom and I made plans to buy a house in Kinderton and to sell this house. It has all happened so fast i dont think ive even had time to let it all sink in. It's almost as if im numb to all the negativity in the situation. It's been a rough few months but i know we are strong and will make it through. My parents have decided that even if they can't be married, they will still be close friends and will continue to keep in touch and be there for each other as well as me and Stephen. Even though it's sort of strange, i really like that they decided that. Im glad they wont be an arguing hatefull divorced couple that will never get along. The house has already sold to a family with 2 young girls. I havnt met them but from what ive heard they are nice people and will take good care of the house. It kills me to see this place go...esp after all of the work and love that has gone into it. It was my parents dream house and it was only theirs for a short 6 years...*sigh*...One day when Im rich i will come and buy it back and it will be back in the Statham Family...
The moving date is August 10th....thats only 2 and a half weeks away. So far we only have 3 boxes packed and a few things taken off the walls....I dont think the reality of any of this has really set in. We dont want to move and therefore we will set off anything related to it as long as possible to prevent having to think about it. The house in kinderton is cute. It's smaller and has absolutly NO yard and no privacy like we are used to now. That will be the biggest adjustment. The inside is very pretty though and the way mom and I are about designing and decorating, that place will look like it came right out of Southern Living in no time! Ive been trying my hardest to stay positive...if im not positive, then ill be miserable.
Im glad we have a longer summer this year! It's so wonderful b/c im deffinitly not ready to go back to school. This summer has gone by way too fast. I got my schedule. It wont be that hard of a year at all. And I have at least one creative class each semester so i will be okay! Here it is....yall let me know if we have anything together!!
