Google Calls in the Language Police By the way, I uploaded some new icons. I still love the ones Sonnet made me, but these were too cute to pass up. Had to share.
Well, I wrote a letter to Mr. Richards. I've been meaning to write him for a while now, ever since we got that first letter back from the school system about our petition to keep Ben at Broad Run-- stupid rezoning! He wanted us to keep him apprised. Ben really impressed him this past year in history. I think Ben even beat me. I could finish those multiple choice tests in ten fifteen minutes too, but I never took a 200 m.c. test in twenty minutes and only missed three! I don't think Richards will forget Ben's essay whose title took up an entire page either! Ben said he'd do debate team if he got to stay at BR, so Mr. Richards will get to see a lot of him even though he won't have him in class again for another two years.
We were going to ask Richards' advice on how to appeal, but Ben did the research and we found an argument. BR has a jazz band as a class and Pot Falls doesn't. So Ben gets to stay. We got the letter on Thursday. The Lockharts also appealed. Their daughter isn't in jazz, but when Mrs. Lockhart called to ask about the appeals process, the secretary casually mentioned that if her child needed supervision after school and one school was closer to her parents work or daycare facility, than it would be a "hardship" under the school board's policy and they'd have to let her stay. Well, the Lockharts thought that was ridiculous, a high schooler needing supervision after school, but then they realized it was the only argument they had. So that's what they argued and their request was approved. So if Pot Falls expands their band program in the next two years, then we know an alternative argument to use.
