As the New Year has recently arrived, I got to thinking about all that ensued in my life in 2004. It is hard to describe this year in my life because there is so many different things that happened. I guess it is hard for anyone to sum up an entire year of their life, and although it is silly to try, I am constantly summing up every event in my life just so I can look back at it later. Here is my attempt by way of 2004 superlatives:
Best Events/Discoveries of 2004:
*Eliot and I turning a “platonic friends gone wild” moment into true love.
*The week-long summer camping trip in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
*Spring Break road trip to Kew West.
*The discovery of the amount of willpower I have to succeed in what I want to succeed in.
*The termination of my career with fractions (hahaha, that sounds so sophisticated)
Worst Events/Discoveries of 2004:
*Losing my brakes while driving a mini-van down a mountain and flipping over into a ditch in Nova Scotia.
*The realization that as you grow older, you continue to grow apart from some old friends.
*The fact that I did not have a computer in November and December of the semester.
*The trouble I have gotten into by being a scatter-brain (parking lot accidents, lost purses, court dates)
Best Lesson Learned:
*Don’t hold yourself back
Worst Lesson Learned:
*The insecurities with myself that I have had to get over this year
Best Culinary Discovery:
*Vegetarian Bacon (aka Fakin Bacon)
Worst Culinary Discovery:
*Tofu (I just can’t like it)

*The Boston 4th of July celebration
*The Museum of Really Bad Art
Most Ridiculous Behavior:
*Whoever really did shit in that coconut in Key West
*Last semester Mike calling me atleast 10 times this semester to “hangout” even tho I have never said yes
Most Adored Behavior
*Eliot being more concerned about me than even himself or the situation after the car accident
*My Mom not killing me after I called her ever single day with bad news for about a month
*Kyle telling me that he would take a bullet for me if he had to
Biggest Accomplishment:
*Being on the Dean’s list for the entire year
*Climbing Mount Monadnock

*Not getting a job last semester

2004 was a great year, just when I thought 2003 was great, 2004 was ten times more amazing. I might not want to grow up, but I like the direction I am going….. Bring on ‘05!
