was perusing various LJs just now (still not doing the slightest bit of work), and came across a (out of date) engagement announcement in someone's journal. now, apparently, this guy and I are not friends anymore (WHY WON'T YOU LOVE ME?), so it's no surprise I didn't know that he was engaged to his sweetie, but it seems more and more, in boggling numbers, that People I have made out with* are now married folks. This is undoubtedly part of the growing up process, this realization, but it's weird, nonetheless.
*My dating history is, shall we say, slightly complicated. The line between people I've slept with/people I've dated/people I have had torrid kisses with is all blurry (and with not nearly as much overlap as you'd think). This is due to a long period where I was easy. ahem.
I just made a little list on a piece of paper of the people that I know, for a fact, who I've shared tongue with, who are married/engaged now. The number is 6. Six! This is staggering. And there's really no telling how many the actual number is, because I've lost contact with a shameful number of people in my time, plus I like kissing folks and there've been times....well. Alcohol was not always a factor.
All this sounds a bit, now, like I'm bragging about slutting around, but really, this is me shaking my head in slow sad bewilderment. Am I behind the curve? Was everyone else really just that much older than me? Should I have my mouth swabbed for herpes?
