what do YOU talk about?
I'm finding it increasingly difficult to talk to certain people in social situations (namely my boyfriends friends girlfriends). What do people talk about? I don't watch main stream TV, or listen to mainstream radio. I certainly don't read celebrity magazines. And my friends are sick of me talking out climate change, the environment and the state of planning in sydney.
help me! I need ideas. Politics and religion are a no no. Im left and an athiest which always raises issues. I grew up in the country and have been referred to as 'niieve' by one particular partner of boyfiends friend because I didn't grow up in western sydney suburbs so I clearly can't talk about what its like growing up there. I don't care about hair, makeup, clothes or fashion.
Help help help. I am always talking about the dog. I am sure they sick of that too.
I desperatly want to avoid causing rifts between my boyfriend and his friends... and I would like to be friends with their girlfriends, but we have absolutely nothing in common.
And I do have many other good friends with whom I have wonderful conversations, so I can't be completely intolerable...
