Well, I do declare it was quite the weekend!
Went and saw Darren Hanlon play on Friday night at The Gallipoli Club (possible the funkiest venue in Newcastle, complete with an enormous carpeted bathroom and mirrors that make you feel like a 1940’s film star). Darren was wonderful. The support guy, David Dondero, was quite entertaining also. He tried to pick me up at the bar, which was quite funny. Wonderful British accent and fairly spunky, but I was aloof, as I feel I’ve done my stint being a roadie.
Back to Darren... who is so little and cute :) The last few songs everyone got up and danced for which was much much fun. Afterwards I think (I’d had quite a few vodkas by now) we went to the Lucky where I talked to lots of random people and drank more vodka. Then off to a rooftop party on an apartment building that is literally falling apart. The elevator clunks more than two clunker's on their honeymoon, and you can actually take whole bricks out of the walls, which crumble & lean. All in all, very secure.
The party was awesome, partly due to the venue, the vodka and the dancing.
Crashed at Gabe’s bout 3.30am but couldn’t sleep so called the aforementioned- in- some-recent- lj- entry- seven- year- crush and went to his place for a chat and stuff.
Saturday went for a swim, read and generally spent a whole lot of time attempting to locate my head & willing the energy to go to another party that night. Made it, just.
Sunday was beautifully lazy. Read most of The Da Vinci Code, did some gardening and prepared for company. At 6pm the doors opened and many friends wandered in for a night of home made vegan pizzas, wine, Eddie Izzard and articulate. Much good.
Adrian stayed the night and he is good to hug. And he made me breakfast this morning. :)
Oh and I’ve been vegan since last Tuesday and I feel fantastic! Woohoo!
