dragon ballz could be a great show. they have some great ideas and all, but sometimes, the show just sinks to depths of crapness i would have never thought a human could create. first, lets start with a list of the good points:
1- people would love to have world destroying powers and be able to fly, but since they cant, watching a tv show is almost the same
2- it has style, like the show or not, it definatly has good art and concepts, and DBZ has become the show most people think of when they hear anime.
3- since death doesnt mean someone is gone forever in DBZ, the heroes can be defeated without ruining people hopes and dreams.
and now the bad (i'll limit it to three)
1- death doesnt stop someone. they had a good thing going with this, but then it got ridiculous. one by one all the heroes would die and then come back. and it took away the suspense of fights, the only life at stake is the bad guys, oh no -_-
2- the dialouge. its awful. beyond cheesy. not even the fact that it was made in the 80's or whenever cane save it. it sucks, plain and simple. however, its not as bad as a lot of other animes, which feel the need to pound the happenings of the last weeks episodes into your mind every 5 minutes. Inuyasha does this a lot, I know I've seen a lot of episode's where half the content was flashbacks.
3- GET IT THE HELL OVER WITH. I dont know what the time ratio is between us and DBZ, but it can take a month for one fight to be over with. I know if I had DBZ powers, I wouldn't stop after every punch to make a witty comment about how I'm going to bash the other guys face in, I'd bash his face in. Or rape him.
anyways, to put it simply, when DBZ is good, I'd watch it if my shows about people making idiots of themeselves (i want to suck bob sagat's widdle winky) or adult swim isnt on. when it's bad, I'd honestly rather watch alchoholic midget transexual's with AIDS, leukemia, tumors the size of another midget who like to have sex with animals admit to their lover that their penis is fat sucked out of their head and grafted to their special spot.
