... fishing with my iPod ...

theres 1400 songs on my iPod. I have actually paid for 15 that i downloaded. (it was birthday money!)
look how far we've come! and you kids under 30, you never knew the joys of never having this iPod/cellphone/IM/text messaging/hi-speed internet laced starbucks world. we used to have to drag cassette tapes that tangled and stretched and then the double a batteries ran out, now its all smaller than my wallet and plays for 12 hours.

i went phishing last weekend. caught nothing i could keep, except a sunburn. it was fun though. it was the church mens fishing weekend. the guys i went with, (kitchel and wenzel) left thursday night. we got to Rockport about 2am. i went to bed and dident wake up till 9am. everyone had l gotten up at 5 and went phishing.
I had a whole day, well about 6 hours, where i did not talk to anyone. I sat with my iPod and painted indian blankets (its a flower). I need some new water color brushes since i dipped one in the water and it desinteragted. I haven’t done any watercolors in maybe 8 or 10 years.
I went phishing late that afternoon with brother love,(we call him brother love cause he always says “I love ya, brother!”) but we didn’t catch anything. (hes got a REALLY nice boat). saturday morning was cold and windy. a bunch of us sat in the game room most of the morning and watched bass fishing in a lake in mexico. they kept catching the same bass.
we went out sat afternoon and never saw a phish. friday night i charged up my iPod and told the guys i rode with, i was taking my ipod with me on the boat since the persons boat i was on boared me to tears. they thought that was a great idea, since they had driven back from Mexico w/him in the van and knew what i was talking about. (we were assigned to boats since not everyone had there own boat.) then i thought about it and didn't take my iPod, it cause i knew if there was a boat to sink anywhere on the gulf coast, it would be the one i was in, and my iPod would be ruined! the boat i was assigned to was lucky to be afloat. actually it was a miracle it floated. the steering was bad so could not go straight, you would zig zag across the bay. the compartments where you stored the anchor and such had the handles broken off, none of the gages worked. it was a very sad boat! so i sat in a boat for 6 hours saturday, never saw a fish (mullet don’t count) and had no music. i would have settled for light rock.
saturday night we all went to Dairy Queen and got blizzards.
sunday morning i caught a few speckled trout, but they were not big enough to keep.
We came back home past the nuclear plant in Bay City. it was a power generation tour. on our way down we passed a couple of power plants and Kitchel (the driver) is an electrical engineer for ChevronTexaco, so we learned all about power generation and transmission. oh they were building transmission lines by the hunting/phishing club we were at were using this huge heleocopter to carry transmission poles across the tidal marsh. it was a cool guy kinda thing.
i came home with some phish that kitchel gave me since they got up early friday, saturday and sunday caught a lot. I'm a lazy fisherman.
My kids were amazed that there dad caught phish. (like im some sort of phish mutant) My kids wanted me to bring home a tuna, not like they would even eat it. (i think they wanted a pet).

i should be working
