Leonard blinked at him, mirth disappearing. "Jim, I saw you after some of your 'dates' at the Academy. You can't tell me-"
"A little bit of hand, a lot of tongue?" Jim shrugged. "People are willing to take what they can get, especially if even the appetizers are good."
"You managed to build your entire reputation without ever achieving penetration." Leonard repeated the words again, but they still didn't quite add up. He looked closer at Jim and tried to find the joke. He knew Jim's poker face, all of his tells, and Jim wasn't laughing. Leonard put his hands over his face and tried not to laugh. "Fuck, Jim. And Spock wanted the full deal?"
"I know the mechanics. I'm generally pretty good at putting theory into practice, too. And I thought..." He trailed off with a sigh, sounding pained. Leonard wondered if the throbbing of his own head had set up an answering rhythm in Jim's. Misery did love company, after all, and Jim was so willing to share. "I thought Spock would help me implement that transition."
"And things went south before you could explain to your horny and aggressive boyfriend you hadn't gone that far before," Leonard filled in. He put his hands flat on the table. "is that all?'
Jim tilted his head to the side and drew a breath in through his teeth. "That's not quite the extent of it."
Leonard pressed a hand to his temple. "Of course it isn't? You have to be a sexual deviant no matter what you do. A twenty-six year old virgin. What else is there? You might as well just put it out on the table, because now I've heard everything."
There was something challenging in the look Jim levelled at him. "I don't want Spock. He's hot and he's talented in ways I do recognize, but even when I got him to slow down and stop trying to ride me like a bull, it wasn't right."
"Are you going to save yourself for marriage?" asked Leonard dryly. He was surprised by the flash of hurt on Jim's face following the question. "Really? You've been holding onto your virginity in hopes of, what, gifting it to your one true love eventually?"
"No," Jim said quickly. He looked uncomfortable as he said it, though, and Leonard raised an eyebrow high enough to impress a Vulcan. Jim made a face and put his hands out, palm up, as he explained. "But if I've waited this long, why not wait a little longer?"
"Right. So, offer Spock your hands and mouth. You said others were satisfied with 'em." Case closed. Jim could take his crisis back to his room and blow his first officer, and Leonard. He looked at the chronometer. He had several hours yet before he had to be back on duty. Time for a shower, a meal, and a nap before then. Too much time to consider what Jim and Spock were getting up to.
He started to rise, but Jim didn't budge from the chair, he just looked up at Bones with a small half-smile. "Bones, the thing is, I don't want to offer any part of my body to Spock. Because it is a gift. And I'd like to be able to hand it over with my heart."
They stared at each other and then Leonard sat back down slowly. "I never knew you were a romantic."
Jim grinned. "Don't tell anyone else."
"Your secret's safe with me," Leonard promised. "No one else would believe me."
"Probably not," his friend agreed. Jim glanced down, his expression thoughtful, then returned his gaze to Leonard's face. "So, you saw Spock come to my room last night? What were you doing creeping the halls at that time of night, Bones?"
Jim's eyes were piercing, daring Leonard to attempt a lie. He settled on a half-truth. "I had a bottle of Dysian whisky, and you know I'm not big on drinking alone."
"Oh," Jim murmured. Leonard told himself that wasn't disappointment in Jim's voice. "So... you weren't coming to maybe seduce me with alcohol?"
"Because alcohol helps a man maintain an erection since when?" He tried and failed to inflect the words with harsh sarcasm.

"Didn't you just say you were keeping it all in your pants, as it were, until you found your," he waved a hand in frustration. "One?"
"Yeah." Jim nodded. "That's what I just said."
Leonard considered that and compared it to Jim's surprisingly frank discussion on emotions. "You're offering me-"
"Everything," Jim said immediately, voice controlled and casual. He wasn't blinking, though, hand his hands had curled into fists, giving away his tension. "You're kind of an all or nothing kind of guy, Bones. I don't think you'd accept less."
"Probably not." He could make Jim wait for his answer, an unkind payback for the torture of the previous evening, the previous years, of thinking and knowing Jim was with others. "I do accept, by the way."
"Yeah?" Jim's smile was instant, the tension gone and replaced by a sudden nervous thrum that was equally as obvious. "So we-"
"Are taking a shower, having breakfast, and taking a nap," Leonard said instantly. He smirked at Jim's crestfallen expression. "I've been waiting for you for four years, Jim. You can wait until my head isn't killing me and my breath doesn't taste like sweatsocks."
He stood up and offered his hand to Jim, who loked at it in confusion before taking it. "Why, Bones, you roman-"
Before something too annoying could get past Jim's lips, Leonard tugged him close and kissed him. Gentle and smooth, no bull comparisons for him, thank you. Teasing, just a hint of tongue, and Jim looked bemused when they pulled away from each other.
"Does this mean I'm invited to shower with you?" Jim asked. He wraggled his eyebrows. "I might have something to help you with that headache."
Leonard rolled his eyes, but let Jim lead him to the bathroom anyway. "I'll accept that, too."

that was pure WIN right there. :) :) :)
And the fact that you had it be Spock that came onto Jim but had Jim be all 'My &hearts' belongs to Bones' was lolz. I loved it, all of it.
Now....what kind of arts would you like?

I was totally going to try to get the story around to the OT3, but... yeah. Stories have a way of getting away from me. I'm really glad you liked.
