Was every cadet assigned to a ship? Or was it just the upperclassmen? How would you define upperclassmen- just seniors/fourth years/graduating students, or seniors+juniors, or something else entirely? Would any/all TAs have gone? Professors?
Basically, I want to know how empty the Academy would have been while the Enterprise was limping home. And how badly Starfleet has been hit, officer-wise.
