Do we have a dubiously canon or widely-accepted fanon name for Cupcake? For some reason, I'm thinking Alex, but that might just be because of a roleplayer on the kink meme. Any last name? Does anyone care about poor Cupcake??

I know others have used Matthews in respect to the actors surname but for an AU I am writing I used his character name in the credits which was Burly Cadet and turned that into Caden Burly instead.

AFAIK he has no remotely canon name and there doesn't seem to be any obvious fanon consensus developing yet.

I usually try to find a way to call him "Cupcake", if I possibly can. On one occasion I named him Ensign O'Hara because 1) I couldn't go to the film to check his rank stripes without getting caught up in the action and losing half an hour and 2) I thought calling him Ensign Scarlet was just slightly too obvious a play on "redshirt". :-)

I've seen a number of fics that call him Giotto, but I think that's been disputed since.

I recall the Giotto name too, but wasn't sure if that was one person's creation or at least somewhat accepted fanon. Hmm. Thanks.

Giotto was the name of the Security Cheif in TOS. Since Cupcake is the Secuirty person most focused on in AOS, there was a bit of speculation that they were one and the same. I don't think we've had word whether or not this was true.

... I'm about to expose the depth of my nerdy-ness here ...

In my head!canon I've been calling him Paul Donner, who was the crazy/assy roommate of Kirk in the Second History part of Killing Time. He's described as being baby/round-faced, heaver and taller than Krik plus he beat Kirk up a few times.

And he was in Security and was the one that eventually found Kirk and brought him to Captain Spock. (I found the parallels between Killing Time and the new movie to funny to not give Cupcake the name in my writings.)

I really need to get around to reading that book! I can't find it in any used book store, it's driving me crazy. And using Paul Donner as a name's a great idea.
