Accents: How do you deal with them in fic?
I am writing a series of drabbles. Most of them are Kirk/McCoy, but I have an idea for one with Scotty. The problem is, I have no idea what to do about his accent. I'm afraid I would totally botch it if I tried to write it. I've read fic where the author writes as they always do and leave it up to the reader to imagine the accent (I guess, it's what I do when I read them). Does anyone have any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, whatever on how to deal with it?
