Because "my side" isn't the same as "the right side", and accepting shitty arguments and propaganda just because they flatter your preconceptions is a good way to ensure that you end up on the wrong side.

Actually, in my mind, he's the Cheney from the debate with Roberts, sort of hunched over and just casually saying the most overt bullshit possible without actually breaking physics. But I don't actually visualize in still images, so I'm probably not the target demo for this.
