Summary: Some labyrinths exist in the mind only, and not all minotaurs are wicked despite initial impressions.
Notes/Warnings: This is my first fanfiction in a very long time, and possibly a rather ambitious undertaking. I don't know. It's entirely unbeta-d so corrections and complaints are appreciated and any mistakes are entirely mine. All images come from Mark Z. Danielewski's amazing book House of Leaves. They were scanned by me and poorly edited by me and I take full responsibility for any crappiness in that respect. I don't think Mr. Danielewski ever intended for his words to be used in this way, but I hope he wouldn't object overmuch. This is, after all, at its heart a love story, even if the names are wrong.
Chapter 4 contains sexual content, potentially disturbing imagery, and profanity.

(My first thought is 'oh no'. My second thought is obliterated by a whirlwind of sensation that unbalances me, sends me sprawling across the floor which I'm too far gone to note is cold now.)

( I wake gasping and sweating on the floor, having been thrown violently back to full and shivering wakefulness by a sudden feeling of immense dread. )
