I just did a project for shcool that was really...impactful. I'm going to post it and i want your opinions, and i think you should all take the time to do this yourself. it's kinda fun, but it makes you stop and think about your life. we read a book and in the book there was this girl, the main characters girlfriend and she was dying and only had a few months to live. the guy didnt love her at all and was trying to find a way to break up with her when she did this: she made a list of the 100 things she wants to do the msot before she dies, no matter how radical they are. i was assigned to do my own list of what i wanted to do before i die. because its a school project, i only did 7, go figure...but it really made me stop and think.
Before I Die…
Dallas Stanley
1. I want to walk on every continent on the earth…
-I want this because mankind has already touched foot on another planet, and is venturing our machines to distant planets…but not many have ever seen all the edges, and the land of our own home.
2. I want save a life before I die.
- If my life were ending, I would like to give someone the gift I could not have, the gift of a second chance.
3. I want to tell someone my life’s story.
-I am not afraid to die… but I am afraid to be
forgotten. I want someone to know everything I’ve
done, good and bad. My life may not go on, but I want
my stories to.
4. I want to touch the sand, the dirt, the mud and the
snow of the places touched by war.
- I want to walk where my father’s, father’s fought
and died for my freedom.
5. I want to cry, just once more with joy. So many of us shed tears for our pains and broken hearts. Just once more before I go, I wish to cry smiling, so happy I can’t hold it in.
6. I want to get married and have children.
- I want this because it’s a now a social norm to have
divorced parents. I want to be a father, and
ultimately give my child what I never had, a father.
I want to watch his first steps, I want to hear his
first words, I want to approve his first girlfriend.
I want to throw him his first baseball, and drive
him to his first hockey game. The only stereotype I
want to be; is a father.
7. I want to see my brother feel innocence and justice. I want the world to know his soul is pure, he is unjustified. I want to see him at peace before I die. I want the hope to return to his eyes. I want vindication.
