“….eight….nine….ten! Ready or not! Here I come!” Gilbert shouted and stepped away from the corner he had been facing. Quietly, he slunk about the living room to the kitchen, to the extra bedroom. Everywhere he peeked, Sam was not there.
“Hmm….where could he be?” he muttered to himself.
He ventured into the room they shared and checked behind the door. Nothing. When he came in front of the closet doors, he opened them in one quick motion, expecting to find the brunette hiding among the hanging clothes. No luck. He was about to leave to check behind the shower curtain in the bathroom, but he paused and surveyed the bed. A smug smile crept onto his face, and he got on his knees to lean down and investigate under the piece of furniture. He found his treasure, lying on his stomach and grinning cheerily at him.
“Found you!” Gilbert said triumphantly.
Sam gave a small giggle and began crawling out from his hiding place. “I thought you wouldn’t,” he confessed.
“You underestimate my incredible ‘hide and seek’ powers.”
“So I guess it’s your turn to hide again.”
Sam stood up, and they both meandered back into the living room, the brunette crossing the area to stand in the corner and Gilbert waiting close by for him to start counting.
“Okay! Ready?” Sam asked.
“Ready.”
“One….two….three….”
Gilbert silently crept along to the bedroom once more and moved behind the door. He stood completely still against the wall, faintly hearing his lover continue on to the number ten. Intently, he listened to Sam’s footsteps getting closer until the younger man entered the room. He remained utterly quiet as Sam went about inspecting, smiling when he heard a disappointed sigh come from the brunette.
“Oh!” Sam breathed and stalked away from the far side of the room to the door. He closed it in one swift motion, beaming with happiness from discovering Gilbert. “I found-”
His sentence was cut off as Gilbert practically lunged forward to envelope him in strong arms and kissed him ardently. A sound of surprise came from Sam, though abruptly changed to one of rapture as they scooted backward. Gilbert tackled him onto the bed and pulled away after a few minutes to gaze affectionately at his lover beneath him.
“You,” Sam whispered and smiled as he gently combed his fingers through Gilbert’s hair.
A mischievous glint flashed across the older boy’s eyes before he started to rapidly unbutton the other’s shirt.
“What are you doing?” Sam laughed pleasantly and trembled slightly from the touch of his lover’s hands on his body.
“I didn’t get a chance to claim my reward for finding you.”
Eagerly and hungrily, he kissed along Sam’s neck and stopped when his lips brushed against the brunette’s. Sam’s legs bended and wrapped themselves around Gilbert’s torso, eliciting a low groan from the older male.
“So I guess,” Sam said breathlessly in between their fervent kisses, “this game’s over.”
“Mmhmm,” Gilbert answered, not breaking contact from his lover’s mouth.
Sam grinned against Gilbert’s lips and started pulling at the bottom of the man’s shirt to remove it. The games he played with Gilbert were always enjoyable and the best he had ever participated in.
Both of them always won, and the prize was always each other; he would never change that for anything else. The fun they had with one another was all that he could ever want and more.
