Ooo, some of those are really nice to look at. They'd be even better if I was actually attracted to either one of them. haha I don't know if I could ever get into Star Trek; I'm not really big on the whole space thing like that and Star Wars. One thing I do love that's come from the Star Trek world is The Picard Song. :)

The thing about most sci-fi, though, is that ultiamtely it's not really about space & stuff, it's about humanity and the characters and their relationships. It's like, you don't have to be into crime shows to like 21 Jump Street, because Tom Hanson & Doug Penhall & the other characters are interesting. Like you don't have to be into history or the 18th century to get into POTC, because Jack Sparrow and the other characters are interesting. My Star Trek fanfics don't even mention the sci fi thing, except for acknowledging Spock's alien culture and how that affects his character & stuff. But y'know, most sci-fi shows tend to have more torture & stuff like that, because you're dealing with aliens who have different morals to humans. You can have an alien culture who finds rape to be perfectly acceptable, and it's believable because hell, they're aliens, they don't think like us. Why wouldn't they have torture & stuff?
BTW, I totally get not finding them attractive. Spock is definitely an acquired taste. He's not that sexy to look at, his hawtness comes from his angst and mystery. And Kirk has a 60s look, I only found him hot to begin with because he kept getting his shirt off, lol. They both kinda grew on me. But in the new movie, everyones hot.
What's the Picard Song? I've never heard of that...
