VOTE! ELECTION DAY! w00t!
VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
(I am not implying that you vote three times)
If you haven't already sent in your absentee ballot, get out there, head to your polling place (rain be damned!) and VOTE!!
Call me a romantic for an older, simpler time, but I still vote in person. Something about making that extra effort to get out, be a part of the community and actively take part in the democratic process. Sadly, this time is the last major election for Washington State with in-person voting before we go to all mail ballots. It pleases to me no end however, that I get to cast my last "personal" vote for Barack Obama. I am sure to savor the moment as I fill in that circle for O! Now if only we still had old fashioned voting booths...
My mind was made up a long time ago; this morning's major decision involves whether I should take my laptop with it's completely dud battery to Vote at Al's tonight! Nothing like spending an evening watching election returns in my favorite neighborhood bar with all my friends, (hopefully) drinking in celebration of victory. Thank god, Al's now has a liquor license, unlike 2000. And 2004...
Time to vote! :)
EDIT: John on KEXP just played a set of "California Uber Alles" Dead Kennedys, "California Uber Alles" Disposable Heroes of Hiphopcracy but the killer is "Fight the Power" PE! Voting isn't armed revolution, but I can't think of a better song to head off to vote to!
