Wow... just watched S03E07 of The Big Bang Theory, titled The Guitarist Amplification
What an incredibly sad episode. Penny and Leonard have a fight, Sheldon starts to lose it, and drowns out the noise with a blender. Penny and Leonard fight some more, same thing. Leonard harps on and on about the situation while driving with sheldon, sheldon has a panic attack and gets out of the car. Raj and Howard fight, Sheldon loses it and relives a painful memory of his rough childhood, living between a jesus freak mother and an alcoholic jerkass father. Later, after failing to get either party to apologize, Sheldon runs away in the midst of yet another fight. He goes to Raj's, witnesses a fight between Raj and his parents, goes to Howards and has to listen to a fight between Howard and his mother. Ending up in the comic store where yet another fight breaks out when Penny and Leonard arrive to take him home. In the end, they bribe him into leaving with them with a toy robot and a comic.
Don't get me wrong, it was still very funny, but watching Sheldon, seeing his rising anxiety, knowing what he was obviously going through (not so much from personal experience per se, but yeah) was pretty rough for me. I dont want BBT for tense emotional breakdown moments, I watch it for light banter and nerd/geek jokes.
And that's all I got to say about that.
