The enterprise founds the Kelvin and thanks to some freaky transporter malfunction George Kirk is beamed on board.

Admiral Pike is on the ship for some reason, cue getting back together after being separated by Winona many years ago.

Also Kirk bonding with his dad and boning Bones would be nice

Present-day AU. Bones (or Jim) is a fireman. Jim's (or Bones') cat gets stuck in a tree on a weekly basis. That sneaky feline.

"So how's life going? Is Jo having fun at school?"

"Good. Yes. What do you want?"

"Well, you see ... Spock's stuck in the tree again."

"Again? This is the fifth week in a row!"

"Can you come get him down?"

"I'm not on duty right now, Jim."

"Yeah, I know, but you're the only one that can get him down and not have him run straight back up!"

"My life was nice and simple before your demon cat."

"You're a firefighter, your life was never simple."

"You owe me for this."

"Lunch?"

"Better be expensive, and you're paying."

Nu!Spock and Spock Prime are working together during a stopover at New Vulcan. Due to an Ion Storm the transporter malfunctions and swaps their minds. The two decide to not tell anyone and try to fix the problem themselves. This leads to much awkwardness as they need to convince Starfleet to let the Enterprise stay at New Vulcan for longer, as well as deal with the fact Nu!Spock loves Uhura but is in Spock Prime's body, while Spock Prime loves Jim (his and Nu!Jim) but is in Nu!Spock's body. (Would love it if the focus was on Spock Prime, making comparrisons between this universe and his).

OH GOD PLEASE. I mean, it would be only logical for Spock to allow both his Captain and his other self a moment of happiness before switching back (despite his concerns over Kirk as a threat to his body's help). Ohh... the angst would be awesome.

People on the ship are having a debate-turned-battle on what Kirk would be, if he weren't captain. People are Team Engineer. Or Science Officer. Or nurse. And so forth.

Cue everyone's shock and grumble when Kirk finally mentions (offhandedly) that if he weren't Captain, he'd probably pick Uhura's position as the position he would most likely people.

Cue a smug Uhura rubbing it in: "What? you think we let him be the Treasurer of the Xenolinguistics Club just because we thought he had a pretty face? Well...that helped too."
