lots of things have gone on...

i am now the proud owner of a food processor and a stomach ache spured by my generous appetite for hummus

currently temping at Mica...let me explain the temp thing to those of you unfamiliar with this facet of the work industry:

first, you apply to a temp agency. usually if you can at least read and write and sit at a desk for up to eight hours at a time, you're hired.

then, you wait for them to call you at random times in the morning, usually while you are brushing your teeth or desperately clutching for your first sip of coffee.

once they tell you where to go and what to do there, you show up and do the stuff the people ask you to do. so far i've answered phones, accidentally hung up on people, didn't answer the phone because i knew it was the person i hung up on, sat at a desk, looked on online things, read the first and second book of Don Quixote, ate lunch at the desk to avoid getting paid less for taking a real lunch break, etc.

when you're done with the current assignment you either mail or fax your hours to the temp office, they generate a check, and it arrives in your mailbox at any random time during the week. i think i like this part the most because it makes me feel like i'm getting paid all the time.

tomorrow i start training for my first 'real' temp job. i say real because it's not just down the street (i have to get on two buses to get there but for $10/hr, its not too bad). i'll be sitting in for a "Ms. Jean" who is going on vacation for the next two weeks. It's mostly switchboard stuff, which i can do fine (if its not too busy, then i get kind of rattled and mis-connect people, etc.). oh, i'll be working at The Woodbourne Center somewhere in northernisn Baltimore. it's a place for abused teens, etc., you know, conseling, classes, activities, housing, stuff like that.

well, that's it about work related stuff.

just in case you were wondering...me and Adam, yes.
things are going really well.
i think i like him more and more every day, and what's more mind-blowing is, i think he likes me too (like, for reals).

ah, 45 minutes to go...

i hope all your classes are going well and all that stuff.
i remember when i was in school. (those were the days!)

oh yeah! two cool updates:

A) I am applying for a residency in Japan which will be from Jan. '07 till March '07.
one word: stipend

B) I'm going to be in a group show at Current in October or November (whenever we figure out the dates). yay art! this time its work about Odin's one, big, motherfucking EYE! (which SEES everything and IS everything!)

ok, see ya!
