Walking and Cleaning

Today, while I was out at the bus stop, sitting under the shade tree, I realized that I am actually getting out and moving every work day. It's not a lot, just 6 minutes to the bus stop, and 6 minutes back home, plus a few blocks if I feel like adding more in the morning. But those 6 minutes are 4x a day. Add in another 10-15 minutes, depending on how many blocks I add in, and well that is a minimum of 34-39 minutes a day more than the 0 minutes a day I was doing just couch sitting. It really was a lot easier to get off my bum and move than I had originally thought (duh!).

I just need to get to bed earlier in the evening so I don't feel so sleepy once I get up.

In other news, I am now spending part of my quiet mornings doing all the house chores I let pile up for way too long. Again, not a whole lot at a time, but... well, here's today's short list.

I scrubbed down the main bathtub, scrubbed the toilet next to it, and using those wonderful little throw-away wipes, cleaned the outside of the toilet (great for the nooks behind it) and the yucky floor all around the toilet. And then I cleaned the door, door frame, and even the outside of the bathtub (which needs more of something I've come to realize, as the water spots are acting permanent). I also did 2 loads of laundry washed, while I folded up 2 other loads of laundry. And then picked up a bunch of soda cans I've been leaving around the living room & kitchen table. Finally I checked my sewing machine and found it working just fine on regular fabrics - so I am thinking it didn't like my hanky linen, but I think fiddling with the tension might solve that problem.

It is lunch time break (I eat lunch after I get Relle if I've had a big breakfast like today), but I still have a pile of dishes to put away, and more dishes (well, containers and pans) to wash up or put into the dishwasher. But I've done a lot more work this morning than I would do when the kids were around. I realize that I also would retreat into my computer more than I really should do, so I've been able to just shut this laptop off as needed in order to focus on the other things. Which I will do right now, after I post this.
