Steampunk clothing ideas book

Have a new book that arrived today... Women in Pants: Manly Maidens, Cowgirls, and Other Renegades by Catherine Smith & Cynthia Greig (I bought it cheap on eBay, but amazon prices from other dealers are similar).

Victorian era ladies wearing bifurcated garments, all from images of the time period. Talking from harem pants, to bloomers, to stovepipe pants, and even full military uniform. Also discusses the different types of women who wore them and why, which range from coal miners to Eskimos to theater gals cross-dressed in full men's suits, pocket watch and cigars.

I am getting some great ideas for steampunk appropriate garments, as these ladies are not walking "fashion plates". In fact, one lady is dressed for a shoot, as she went out and hunted down critters herself for taxidermal museum settings in Colorado.

So, if you are interested in actual historic women wearing non-fashion plate garments, buy this book while you can. It seems to be on remainder now.
