Island water park

I am up late tonight, as I had a long nap this afternoon, which is upsetting my normal schedule. But I needed that nap as my tummy again was giving me issues, and I was tired from a day at the water park.

Water park... this is why I am not at the Baronial Anniversary that got changed to this weekend (that I didn't know about until last week). My husband bought tickets for the family for the City Employees union party event today a few weeks ago, so to the Island water park we went.

Now normally, I would be happy to go... but I am rather swum out from having taken the kids to their swim lessons at the high school, and having taken them a couple of days ago for an afternoon swim there before their lessons. While I am not sunburnt, emotionally I was just not with it today.

But we did have some fun. While I spent a good deal of time being Relle's watcher on the smallest of the slides (a whale), Rob did take turns so that I could go with Cam down a few different chutes of water on inflated tubes. One of them they had added some music and light that made it seem like a monster was alive and around the next bend, which was very cool! Then it was time again with Relle, and her wailing dislike of a bathroom that wasn't absolutely clean (wet footprints got to her). Finally we had a late lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers. For which my tummy gave me immediate fits (I think that is really from yesterday's lunch), time in the bathroom alone, then time sitting alone while the rest of the family enjoyed more water fun.

Rob actually won the raffle with our two raffle tickets, and won pretty nicely! One was a gift cert to Home Depot attached to a small drink cooler, and then he won again, with the prize being $50!! Ok, so that paid for our discount tickets into the park. Things ended a little badly, as Relle again made a big mess in her bathing suit (so much fun she doesn't want to end things to go to the bathroom) which I had to clean up with minimal supplies (Rob had taken out the baby wipes from the bag that I had in there a few days ago) and no shower area at the nearest bathrooms. So I cleaned her up best I could, then got her dressed in the extra outfit that was still in the bag. We then headed for the exit, got a season pass so we can do this whole fun thing again later this summer (said with sarcasm)...

Actually, the kids do enjoy it a lot and it is only a few miles from our home up the street. So, if they are good, help to clean up the house and do other chores, they will get to go back now and again while school is out. I just have to make sure I am well prepared for *all* emergencies.

When I got home I crashed for a few hours, with a couple more trips to the bathroom. I am not sure what has me in knots as my tummy growls even now. Thankfully, my husband's bbq chicken dinner (was yummy) is staying down so far, and I hope it stays that way. But I should head off to bed and get some more rest for tomorrow. I have garden work, and cleaning my sewing room to do... if my stomach allows.
