Parade in Madera Ranchos/Queen Bess & the Pyrates
Joyce, the Promoter for Queen Bess & the Pyrates renaissance faire, is asking for people in the area to walk a parade this Saturday. Here's what she wrote in her FB.
Joyce Roberts Queen Bess and the Pyrates has been accepted into the Flatlanders parade on Saturday, May 9. It is about a 1 mile walk, at parade speeds. We can pass out flyers, beads, and candy. We can’t throw anything. We are to meet at 9am at Topper (Rd 36 I believe) and Ave. 12. The parade steps off at 10am. The best plan is to be dropped off at Topper and have someone drive the car down to the Chamber of Commerce office.
This parade is in Madera Ranchos. 41N to Ave. 12, turn left and follow your nose.
we can be in costume and walk the route. I would love to have a large crowd of pirates to let the townsfolk know they are about to be invaded. I am having a banner made to tell folks who we are.. I would like a headcount of who might be able to attend. ASAP I know this is last minute, but I didn’t even know about it until this weekend when we were passing out flyers and postcards in Madera.
So, anyone here want to go and do this? I am planning on going, but wearing peasants, lest I overheat in my court dress (with my meds, I dont take chances anymore).
