Small newsbits

So, Rob has gone and done it... he shaved off his face, er I mean facial hair. No goatee, no chin hairs, no mustache, nada, zip, gone. He did it last night, and it was smooth then. Now, it is a bit rough. I don't know why he decided to do it, but he did, and I am still trying to get used to his "new" face. He's thinking of chopping off his shoulder length hair, too. I like his longer hair.

On the accident front; this house has dealt with a few, only one of which is of my own children.

Cam today had his first major biking accident. Thankfully, the truck was not moving, only he was. He slid under the front and it damaged his bike a little and scratched the truck rubber. He was trying to outdo his older male friends in speeding on his bike, and looked back and then hit the truck. He's going to have bruises along his side, but it's been iced, and will be iced again later tonight.

Then Niko, the neighbor kid, hit his head on the ground falling off of the swing he was on. The ground is heavily covered in rubber bark, so it absorbed some of the blow. He had also hit his head earlier today on some weights, so he may have been a little woozy from that when he fell off the swing. A little later, one of the girls playing cut herself a little, and needed a band aid.

I really hope for no more accidents today; but our two are still outside playing, and life does include bruises now and then.

As for me, I've just been busy trying to put kids outsized clothes into various Space Bag cubes, and boxes. This is helping me to clear my bedroom floor of various boxes and clothes heaps.

I also vacuumed the dirt off of, and space bagged/boxed my Tudor gown, kirtle, and foresleeves. The gown had been brushed, and washed in Eucalan (no rinse needed), but some of the dirt had remained for some reason. So, I again took a brush, and the vacuum in order to get those last bits of dirt, and got as much as I could. It comes off easily from wool, and decently from the velvet, but linen... the linen holds the dirt, and some areas are stained from the dirt. The linen is what I used to line the gown skirts, so when I redo the skirts, I think I want to remove the lining and just keep it as wool only; with some lining or padding at the pleats area only. At least it is reasonably cleaned and now boxed away for awhile.

ETA: I am tired. I am hanging up the kids clothing, and I realize, that is pretty much a daily occurrence anymore. I know I am washing their clothes at least three times a week, sometimes 4x, and then hanging them up. This takes a bit longer than the clothes washing I do for Rob and me, which I simply fold and put away. I feel like I do so much laundry, that I have little time for any other cleaning, other than the daily dishes. I look forward to when they are older, and hanging & cleaning their own clothes. Until then, the rest of the house is going to remain looking pretty messy, as keeping up with the kids messes is getting harder and harder to do. Especially when I am the main person doing this work.
